The new record from The Chromatics was scheduled to hit the streets on Valentine's day 2012. And, after all, what would be a more appropriate pairing for that day than Johnny Jewel's latest melancho-disco?
Unfortunately, the production of the art book that will eventually accompany the digital release ended up delaying the release of "Kill For Love," which will hit the street on a date still to be determined.
This, however, doesn't mean that all us impatient souls will have to frantically check all Italians Do It Better outlets until a new date is set. The band and label boss Mike Simonetti have decided to 'leak' tracks off the forthcoming album to whet our appetites for the full release.
If "Lady," the third single embedded above, is anything to go by, there are plenty of reasons to get excited for the imminent release. While the vibe is strikingly similar to characteristic mood of "Night Drive," "Lady" is more subtle and less stylized than the group's previous efforts. The match between Ruth Radelet's dusty vocals and Johnny Jewel's dusty synthesizers is as sweet as ever, as The Chromatics gear up for yet another disco-inspired take on dark electro-pop. We hope you agree that the best way to wait for The Chromatics is to The Chromatics.
