The last post of the year comes from our buddy, James Friedman, from the amazing Throne of Blood Records. James and the Throne of Blood crew compiled this list of dopeness from the past year just for you. Happy New Year, people!

When the dudes at AIAIAI asked Throne of Blood to contribute to their blog, how could we refuse? After meeting David and Jacob in early 2011, they have become more than allies, but good friends. We've eaten too much food together on two continents, thrown crazy parties in exclusive clubs, and talked ungodly amounts of shit together. In short, we're friends.

Ultimately, friendship is what makes a small, vinyl-only record label geared towards house and techno DJs run. We don't do this for the money and its far too much work to simply be about promoting ourselves as DJs. Throne of Blood is about the love. And New Year's is a time to reflect on the things we love, via the obligatory years-end chart of favorites. To mix it up a bit, we've gathered three charts of favorites from some Throne of Blood artists: favorite tracks of 2011, favorite record shops, and finally a list of favorite rediscoveries. This last list compiles some older releases that merit a listen with fresh ears…

So here's to 2011 and 2012! We look forward to many more hangs with AIAIAI, more blog posts, more parties, more music, and more friends…
