A hypnotic, visual meditation on North American leisure culture created by Evan Prosofsky, the guy who directed the memorable ‘Oblivion’ video for Grimes, Bat for Lashes’ ‘All Your Gold’ and Grizzly Bears’ ‘Yet Again’. Sporting an ethereal soundtrack by Dirty Beaches, this contemplative video set in the ‘strange suburban utopia’ of World Waterpark in Alberta, Canada, might just restore your Monday brain to its normal functions.

According to NOWNESS Evan Prosofsky' film was shot over a span of three years and:’ hints at the anxiety that lays dormant behind an otherwise glossy North American leisure culture.’

It certainly is both pretty and thought-provoking. And it draws certain parallels to Umberto Eco’s musings on American leisure culture, the classic Travels in Hyperreality . Maybe there’s even a hint of Olafur Eliasson in the way that notions of ‘the natural’ is explored and artificiality is given a seductive dimension?

Whatever the case, it's certainly aurally and visually appealing enough to wrap your Monday brain in a blanket of sweet contemplative bliss...aaah.
