Arcade Fire's highly anticipated new single "Reflektor" has arrived, and to celebrate the release of it, they’ve made, not only one, but two videos featuring the track.
The first video that was released to the public eyes and ears (and arms), was an interactive experience directed by Vincent Morisset who also directed the "Sprawl II (Mountains Beyond Mountains)" interactive video. Fans of Arcade Fire will know that it has become a band tradition to make interactive music videos that engage the viewers and even to make two versions of the same video. "The Wilderness Downtown", which was directed by Chris Milk in collaboration with Google, was even acknowledged with a Grand Prix by Cannes Lions International Festival of Creativity in 2011.
To experience the "Reflektor" video you will need your computer and a smartphone/tablet. It would be a shame to reveal too much of it, but maybe this video will achieve some awards as well for the creativity and use of technology. Judge for yourself.
The second video (embedded above) is in the traditional format we all know. It takes place in a black and white film noir universe and it’s directed by the experienced Anton Corbijn. It features the big heads from the "Sprawl II (Mountains Beyond Mountains)" video mentioned above.
If you are just as excited as I am, you will be pleased to know that the new album will be released 29th October.
