We live in a world of new technologies and amazing materials. How come no one ever told us about Thinking Putty? It’s been on the market since 2010, when Crazy Aaron’s Puttyworld (yes that’s the real name) developed it.
It’s an interesting material, made for playing and having fun. Quite like plasticine it’s easy to shape and mold and it truly looks surreal.
Shanks FX/PBS Digital Studios are using this freaky material in a magnetic version to create what they call ”black hole sequences”. By molding the magnetic putty around metal shapes and shooting time-lapse video sequences of it, they perceive the fluid movements that occur.
Bounce it, tear it, stretch it, pop it: this cool, new element will no doubt speak to crafty, creative souls.
