Following the launch of a new website and the announcement of a new record label focusing on Danish talent, Dunkel Radio returns to the air for this season of fortnightly shows.
Najaaraq and Emma were joined in the studio with Sara Svanholm and Simone Øster for for a chat about the weekend’s partying schedules and some fawning over Xosar and her wonderful live set from Distortion last year.
We had a couple of old-school garage picks courtesy of Simone, who has a long-standing reputation as a staple of the club scene in Copenhagen with a weakness for UK sounds. We caught up with her after the show for some bonus-level selections.
Fryars - Cool Like Me (Todd Edwards Dub Remix)
That sound is not to be mistaken. Todd is God, as we say.
New Horizons-Find The Path (Sweet Release EP Mix).
A lot of drums, a lot of chopped vocal, a lot of feel good.
Dusky - Careless (Original Mix)
This one… It sounds like they like MK as much as I do. I know it was a massive hit, but it's gorgeous.
Marquis Hawkes - Hold On
A subtle one. So pure, so sexy and understated.
Black Loops -- Rollin' EP -- Let Me See You Roll
This track has something nice to it. I like the bass, but there's something going on with the techno vocals and something that I’m not sure I get. But okay, they are from Italy!
Dunkel Radio will be back on air Friday 14th February and every following fortnight.
