Using a 70-year-old, insect display case that they acquired from the Museum of Natural History, Stockholm-based design company, Humans since 1982, have created this neat, eye-catching piece that gracefully straddles the divide between design object and work of art.
‘Collection of Light’ is essentially a collection of LEDs (light-emitting diodes) arranged to mimic the painstaking way in which bug collectors of yore would display their findings. Moreover, the LEDs are all labelled (with name, size and colour temperature) and arranged in a specific order to emit harmonic light.
