A few months back Christian and I visited Jesper and his crew from Teenage Engineering to talk about different projects. In their Soedermalm garage studio we found everything from mint condition Ferrari's and Lamborghini's to a complete workshop, stocked with a laser cutter, CNC router, tools and even a music studio full of vintage synthesizers for sound experiments. Quite an inspiring work setting where pretty much everything can be done/made. Although most of their time is put into developnig the highly anticipated OP-1, they also spent time on different creative assignmets. The Absolut Choir is one of their most spectacular projects done, but jesper has also directed spots for companies like Sony, Volvo, Ikea, H&M, Mitsubishi etc. When we visited, they were actually in the middle of shooting this New Balance project and the studio was full of shoeboxes and weird settings, some of which you can see from the films. As with their reqruitment campaign for The Swedish Armed Forces, they once again demonstrate an all around command of storytelling, performance and visuals with a great little twist of humor. Thumbs up to jesper and his crew for finally launching this New Balance project. Below is just a teaser to the project, you can download the iPhone App to get the full feel of their idea evolving every day...Enjoy!
